beginning to recede. abc 7 news is here with a look at water levels. they're running still quite high. >> they're receiving to level that's diminished our concern now. certainly about current flooding. here is a look to show you where you have rainfall. and some light rain just beginning to move north right now around sea ranch. you can see there is wetter weather farther north. let's take a look at rivers becoming north bay hardest hitting area over the weekend. this flood stage is 32 feet. it approached but did not reach flood stage yesterday. now, we see this rapidly a approaching storm wednesday rising but will be below flood stage. interest was minor flooding in st. helena yesterday. just minor flooding is 16 feet. levels down to 3.7 feet. and expected to rise only about 5.4 feet with approaching storm wednesday. napa river stage 25 feet down now to about a 10.2 feet which is again, below flood stage. wednesday storm, but good news with approaching system. >> spencer, thank you. spencer just mentioned napa river. not this time, perhaps not anymore, thanks to the flood protection

who shot three people to death and injured up to four more at a indian reservation is dead from gunshot wounds. the tragedy began last night at the indian reservation near porterville. sheriff's deputies say the 31-year-old man was shot at 2:00 this morning after being tracked through his cell phone. he is said to have opened fire when caught but not before wounding his young daughter who was with him. one suffered life-threatening injuries. the tribe said he had a real hard life. >> the coast guard and a solano county dive rescue team are looking for 577-year-old man who is believe to have fell into the mare island strait. he was last seen on his tug boat. he never came home. his son found the tug boat unlocked and his dad's car parked at the berth. >> this area is being sold as nobe. north oakland, berkeley, and emeryville. tomas roman is live in the neighborhood with more. >> some realtors started to use the name nobe to describe this north oakland neighborhood known usually as the golden gate district. and some resident wes spoke to say this name change is just a ploy to rai

been able to find had person with a possible gun. now no, shots intrn fired and until we know at this point because we're getting standard information there is not a command post on and there is a police presence. the campus now is in the process of going through finals. so there are fewer people on campus than normal. initial reports came in this afternoon putting at about the time classes were winding up, ending about 5:20, then, the campus clears and another wave comes in for evening classes. and people coming. now, the east side of the campus is first locked down, those people were given an alert. the carpus alert system and we're told microphones activated they're told there is a report of a person with a gun on campus, everybody one was to lock down in place. i was told told that they handled it well. the situation we've seen in newtown, everyone is on edge but everyone is following instructions. now with, the shift of activities going here, the president of the university  told those professors and students it's clear for them to go home. eastern portion is now clear. but lock

morning, it was covered with water when an extreme high tide came in at 9:45 but as tides do, it went back out, and in fact, the extreme low tide was just about an hour and a half ago. this bike path lived up to its name today, more bay than trail. veera decided she couldn't make it to the largespur ferry and would have to turn around. >> i knew there was flooding. i had no idea it was that bad. >> caltrans tried to direct people around flooding but nothing could be done for cars left at park and ride. business as long a narrow strip of land between the flood and bay became an island for a few hours, they're less wor worried about flooding. this is a christmas tree lot. >> there is still a foot above the water. i'm from holland. i know a lot about water management. >> he looked at the highest tide prediction for the morning and figures he's got an inch to spare. >> it's going to be okay. and all of the buckets will be6t and he knows to move his car to higher ground. >> as soon as a computer gets wet, the car is totalled. >> skal trance expects to be out here at least through saturday.

of big sur. they closed the road. slide happened yesterday at 5:30 in the evening. no word on when the road will be reopened. >> carolyn: one area hit hard by the problem of mudslides is oakland where road crews are focused on cleaning up. our team coverage continues with reporter nick smith live there where he experienced it firsthand. >> reporter: absolutely. i'm at skyline boulevard and pinehurst road. there is only few yards behind me where a mudslide disrupted traffic. i want you to take a look at video. this is pinehurst road barely inside contra costa county. now, the scene of this morning's mudslide, massive stones weighing hundreds of pounds were pulled from the foundation. ground was saturated from previous rain was no match for the weight and pressure. highway patrol was forced to close a section until road crews could remove the debris. >> the three coming down and my heart just sank. first thing i could think of is to duck. i heard it bounce directly off my roof. i'm pretty lucky. >> reporter: he is talking about that tree. that tree nearly 80 feet in height and weighi

quintana is live at that scene. reporter: the big problem here was runoff following those really heavy storms earlier in the day. that runoff basically overwhelmed a drainage culvert, creating this huge sink hole. crews were able to install these steel plates over the road so the cars could safely pass. rushing runoff from heavy rains earlier in the day overwhelmed this drainage culvert under stoney point road and threatened to chew up more of the pavement. >> water is traveling underneath the pipe, creating a cavern, and potential -- basically a sinkhole. >> crews installed the greats to help with the weight of cars passing over, and in petaluma, the river crept up to the downtown area on c street. some businesses had their sandbags prepped. and sandbags were at apartments. water barely squeezed under the roadway but flowed over earlier in the day. up the river, will brown and his sons assess water levels from a neighborhood bridge and notice debris being rushed down the river. >> looks like a lot of sticks have been coming off from the grass because the water is carrying it away. >>

that he's been shot at, more than once, multiple times by someone on the freeway or on the side of the freeway well. haven't confirm that had yet. the officer was not injured. we don't have any suspect information at this time. >> the biggest challenge now for investigators is locating a witness because they don't have a suspect description orv a vehicle used in this shooting. again, the shooting occurred just after 1:00 this afternoon, and the sheriff's office is asking for the public's help. etc. not known if shots came from an adjacent lane or greater distance. now, though the shooter is still at large, the sheriff's office is assuring everyone that the public is safe driving along highway 85. they should in the pan crick but they're trying to find that shooter.fdew we're live in cupertino, abc 7 news. >> thank you. again, investigators put out a call for help, something anyone who was driving around the time of the shooting which they're now saying is 101 this afternoon to call if you saw anything unusual. we have more on what's happening right now with the investigation. >> ri
